Suspected DeRidder porch pirates arrested in traffic stop; stolen packages recovered

DeRidder, LA (KPLC) - Two men suspected of stealing packages from the Green Acres subdivision in DeRidder were arrested during a traffic stop, police say. Multiple Green Acres residents reported that their packages had been stolen on Tuesday afternoon, according to the DeRidder Police Department. Victims and neighbors shared surveillance video with police, showing the suspect vehicle and one of the suspects.

Boys Basketball Beats Perry Pirates Dec. 5

The 8th grade boys basketball team won their game last night against the Perry Pirates by the score of 41-31. The team was led by a huge offensive explosion by Noah Risman who finished with 19 points. Clutch free throws by Luca Sluder also came up big. The defensive MVP was Henry Stukus who locked down the Pirates big men defensively. The Tigers travel for a hard road test on Thursday when they go to Hawken. Go Tigers!

The Crookston Pirate Boy’s Basketball team has started off 0-2 on the season and are coming off a 78-42 loss at Pelican Rapids on Monday night. Crookston will be on the road again tonight when they play at Warroad in the first of a boy’s/girl’s doubleheader with the Warriors. Warroad is also 0-2 on the season and coming off a 74-52 loss at Warren-Alvarado-Oslo on Tuesday night. The Pirates also lost to Warren-Alvarado-Oslo by a similar type score last week.
