After broadcasting & working remotely for 19 months, Cumulus Media Beaumont, TX has eliminated their real estate footprint in there and has relocated and merged the studios, office and staff with its cluster in Lake Charles, LA. Effective Monday, January 24, KTCX, KAYD and KQXY will now operate and broadcast from Lake Charles, LA which will now require Beaumont employees to relocate to Lake Charles or commute 130 miles daily (round trip).

Bristol decides against the much debated speed bumps

BRISTOL – The Bristol Board of Public Works has decided against the much debated speed bumps, which would have been placed in target areas around town. “There are pros and cons,” said Public Works Director Ray Rogozinski. “One of the things they do is slow speeds, but, as our consultant presented to the board last month, there are concerns associated with noise, travel time for emergency vehicles.”

Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs Don’t Appear To Protect Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Against Parkinson’s

The autoimmune disorder rheumatoid arthritis has been associated with a lower risk of Parkinson’s disease (PD) in previous studies, with antirheumatic drugs as one possible explanation. However, most of the disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) were not associated with the risk of PD in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, a new register-based study from the University of Eastern Finland shows. An exception was the use of chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine which associated with a lower risk of PD. The findings were published online on January 21, 2022, in Neurology®, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

Riley Co. PD investigating Snapchats threatening school violence

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Riley Co. Police are investigating Snapchat messages threatening school violence, but say they do not believe they are credible. RCPD issued a news release late Monday saying it is aware local students received the messages, claiming the potential for violence at school Tuesday. However, RCPD said it does not believe the messages originated locally.

Bend PD Arrest Les Schwab Burglar

A Bend man is facing burglary charges after hiding in the bathroom of a Les Schwab Tire Center. Saturday evening, Bend Police arrived at the business on Highway 97, responding to reports of a suspicious man entering an employee vehicle. Officers and a K9 searched the building and arrested the suspect, 31-year-old Michael Bray, when they found him in the bathroom. According to PD, Bray was released afterward with criminal citations, because COVID-19 protocols at the Deschutes County Jail prevented him from being booked.
