Sausalito considers permanent outdoor dining and parklets

Sausalito will develop a new regulatory scheme to permanently govern a temporary outdoor dining and parklet program established during the pandemic. Thirty-four businesses have entered into agreements with the city since June 2020 that allow them to use outdoor spaces such as sidewalks and parking areas to provide services to the public, Department of Public Works Director Kevin McGowan said during a City Council meeting Oct. 12.

Ogden officials OK change to alcohol rules for outdoor dining areas

OGDEN — Ogden officials have approved a change expanding the sort of outdoor restaurant dining areas where alcohol may be served. The change, sought by operators of a new restaurant on Historic 25th Street, Table Twenty Five, lets eateries serve alcohol in unattached outdoor sidewalk dining areas. Table Twenty Five has a dining area on the wide sidewalk in front of its storefront, split from the main restaurant area by a section of sidewalk used by pedestrians.

Harford County Executive Proposes Legislation To Extend Outdoor Dining

BEL AIR, Md. (WJZ) — Harford County Executive Barry Glassman proposed legislation that would extend outdoor dining, officials announced Wednesday. The proposed legislation would allow outdoor dining by continuing to suspend parking lot requirements and other local regulations on restaurants, breweries and bars. “Outdoor dining is safer for public health and my proposal will allow this option to continue in the parking lots of area businesses,” County Executive Glassman said. “The extra seating will also expand opportunities for local companies that still need our help coming through the pandemic.” Harford County was the first Maryland county to suspend these regulations to assist businesses during the pandemic. The emergency act would extend through the end of 2022. A moratorium on the regulations that was set to expire on December 31, 2021. Parking must still be provided for visitors to commercial establishments and must comply with all fire, life safety, and American Disability Act requirements.
