It seemed like time waited for Virgil Abloh. That was the only explanation for how impossibly prolific he was—in design, in DJing, in blending together subcultures at all levels of fashion. The Off-White founder and artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear bent time with his will, stretching it out to fit what would have still been an immense body of work across 50 years into the past decade.

Heavy on the retro sporting aesthetic is Nike’s most recently revealed in-line capsule of footwear dubbed the “Athletic Club” Pack. Already appearing across Nike Sportswear’s heritage footwear models such as the Air Force 1 Low, Waffle Trainer 2, Blazer Mid, and more, the “Athletic Club” focuses on the brand’s earliest days in the 70s decade by applying some throwback design touches. Seen here via official images are two colorways of the Air Force 1 Mid; both feature the exterior zig-zag stitching on the border of the Swoosh, the “Athletic Club” emblem on the heel, insoles, and tongue label. Like the other inclusions i this capsule, the model name appears on the ankle strap in a rather bland typeface.

The current resurgence of Nike’s perennial Air Max series has seen some of the line’s rarer silhouettes and iconic colourways receive near-chronological reissues over the last few years. That, and the continued frenzy for court-classics-turned-skate/street-favourites such as the Dunk and Air Jordan, makes it even more appropriate that another of the brand’s ’90s heritage staples, the Huarache, is being treated with equal reverence.
Though they may be currently limiting online sales of the Air Force 1, Nike has not yet stopped tweaking the silhouette further and further. Here, it dons a number of luxurious elements that all come together atop a bright pink colorway. The base construction is, unlike its smaller parts, quite...
Nike Sportswear reveals a brand new “Deep Freeze” iteration of the Air Force 1 High Utility 2.0 that’s inspired by the unique beauty of winter. For its latest ensemble, the Nike Sportswear classic has emerged with non-standard suede and nylon materials, as well as a mismatched color palette.
Putting together this sneaker history has been my most difficult search to date. Jason Kidd shoes are hard to find on the interwebs, but I managed to do it with a little perseverance. I can’t say whether Jason Kidd is underrated or not. It’s not because I don’t personally know...
