After a year as Capital University's interim president, David L. Kaufman has been selected to serve as its 17th president, the school's board of trustees announced Monday. Kaufman, who came to Capital in June 2020, was most recently the CEO of Encova Insurance. Kaufman stepped in as the interim leader at Capital following the suspension of the university's search for a permanent president because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Some spring 2020 teams started their season before being sent home and many athletes lost out on fall and winter sports, while the spring was the closest to normal for anyone.
