29 Year Old Maryland State Police Trooper Dies After Being Found Unresponsive At His Home, Officials Say

A 29-year old service member of the Maryland State Police died just one day after being found unresponsive at his home, according to an agency announcement. Trooper First Class Alec Elijah Cohen, 29, of Baltimore County, was found unresponsive at his home on September 17, 2021. He was taken to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where he remained in critical condition. The next day, Trooper Cohen succumbed to a medical related illness.

MSP: Man, woman arrested for having guns while drunk on I-696

A man and a woman were arrested Sunday after getting into a drunken fight that left their car stranded at the side of a Metro Detroit freeway, Michigan State Police said. Troopers were called at about 8:30 p.m. to a location on Interstate 696 in Oak Park to assist a car. They arrived and while they spoke to its driver, they noticed a male passenger in the vehicle with severe cuts who was bleeding heavily.

Body of missing Au Train man found

SENEY — The body of Thomas Szafran of Au Train, 62, who in August had been reported missing, has been found, the Michigan State Police reported. On Thursday, a township employee in the Seney area was maintaining the area along M-28 when he observed vehicle tracks going approximately 100 yards into the heavily wooded ditch. The tracks led to an overturned truck matching the description of the vehicle last seen in possession of the missing Au Train man.

BERLIN — Police are investigating a fatal crash on U.S. Route 50 involving two motorcycles that killed a Pennsylvania woman Saturday, Sept. 18. The Maryland State Police reported the crash occurred just after 4:30 p.m. to Route 50 and Maryland Route 610 in Worcester County. That is about 15 miles west of Ocean City.
