Morrill Public Library receives Humanities Kansas SHARP Recovery Grant

TOPEKA – Humanities Kansas recently awarded a SHARP Recovery Grant in the amount of $6,024.00 to Morrill Public Library in Hiawatha. Library Director Erin Verbick serves as project director. Morrill Public Library is a center for lifelong learning, providing a variety of resources to meet the community’s information, education, and recreation needs. We serve patrons of all ages and backgrounds with an enthusiasm for community connection. Funds from this grant will support our staff through wages, updated equipment, and training.

Community Happenings

Hiawatha High School Homecoming festivities: Parade downtown at 2 p.m., coronation at 6:30 p.m., prior to Friday night’s football game at 7 o’clock, dance to follow game. City of Hiawatha Clean-Up Day 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Public Works property at 912 Hiawatha. Proof of residency required — Hamilton Recycling not available.
