Early Childhood Screening (Feb. 9-10)

The Montevideo School District will be holding Early Childhood Screening for ages 3-5 on Wednesday, February 9th and Thursday, February 10th from 8am to 11:30am at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Early Childhood Screening is required by the state of Minnesota and is recommended at age 3. Schedule your child’s appointment by contacting the Community Education Office at 320-269-5026.

Residents evacuated their homes and cars were swept along city streets in Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, after torrential rain caused flash floods on 17 January 2022. Interim mayor of Montevideo, Federico Graña, said the flooding was the result of “an extraordinary meteorological event” with between 90 and 150 mm of rain falling in just 1 hour early on 17 January. The city’s average monthly rainfall for January is 92 mm.

Allen Jacobson opened Montevideo’s newest construction company, Jacobson Home Improvements LLC, on January 1st. The business offers a variety of home improvement and maintenance work, including new builds. Jacobson will also do blower door tests to increase energy efficiency, and offers seamless gutters.
