But when the movie—based on the Marvel Comics character—was first coming into shape back in the ‘80s at Lucasfilm, many of the people involved almost immediately had concerns about whether it would work, and not just because of its...weird subject matter.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Has Begun Filming, and Here's a Horrible Picture to Prove It

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed announced the beginning of principal photography with a tweet featuring a familiar face. Reed shared the exciting news on Twitter on Monday alongside a photo of the hideous bunny that Paul Rudd's Scott Lang memorably gifted his daughter Cassie in the first film. The ugly but loveable stuffed animal is ominously placed right next to a biohazard container, and the cuddly creature is looking just as terrifying as we remember it.

Marvel's Moon Knight Villain Reportedly Revealed

Midnight means murder when a little-known Marvel Comics villain makes their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Moon Knight. The Oscar Isaac-led Marvel Studios original series, from head writer Jeremy Slater (2015's Fantastic Four, The Umbrella Academy) and directors Mohamed Diab (Cairo 678) and duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Synchronic), also stars Ethan Hawke (the Before trilogy, Training Day) as the lead villain. Amid speculation that Hawke will play such foes as the pyrokinetic Sun King or the cursed Werewolf by Night, new intel reveals at least one villain in Marvel's Moon Knight: Anton Mogart, a.k.a. Midnight Man.

‘Black Widow’ Sets Early Release On Digital Platforms In August, DVD In September

Much like the character themselves in the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” “Black Widow” is dropping surprisingly early. Marvel Studios’ latest feature film is launching on all major digital platforms come August 10 and then on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on September 14. While that may see seem disastrously early — the early release can’t help but feel like Disney simply throwing in the towel on “Black Widow’s” theatrical release, following major second and third-week drops after a pandemic record-setting opening weekend — to be fair, the timing of the quick home release does have precedent, however, with recent, would-be Disney blockbusters – with “Mulan” and “Raya And The Last Dragon” both hitting video-on-demand to own after just one month. Then Blu-ray and DVD after two months, and finally free on Disney+ after three. So essentially, while many fans or pundits may want to sound alarm bells at “Black Widows” poor box office, this is their Premiere Access release strategy.

James Gunn Has Talked to Marvel and DC About a Harley Quinn and Groot Crossover Movie

In the best crossover concept I’ve heard since last week’s Blade/Underworld idea, James Gunn wants to make a Harley Quinn and Groot crossover movie. I’m always a fan of crossing the streams and mixing up IPs, and Gunn has plenty of experience with both of these. The director has worked on both Marvel’s The Guardians of the Galaxy and DC’s The Suicide Squad. Apparently he likes the idea of mixing the two so much that he’s even spoken to the honchos in charge of both franchises.

Watch: The Suicide Squad Star Reignites Marvel Vs. DC Debate In New Clip

Up until the release of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, most people were of the opinion that Jai Courtney was an undeniably handsome and yet impossibly bland actor. His work in A Good Day to Die Hard, I, Frankenstein, Divergent and Terminator Genisys gave the impression of someone who’d been made on the production line that designed movie stars from the ground up, but forgot to add any sort of charisma or screen presence.

‘Ant-Man 3’ Announces Start of Filming With Bizarre Set Photo

The following post contains SPOILERS for the final episode of Loki. Ant-Man has never been one of the premiere Marvel movie franchises. Its hero is a guy who can shrink, and his movies so far have been fittingly small-scale affairs (at least on the scale that Marvel typically operates at). It appears that that might change with the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. That’s because that film is the only confirmed upcoming appearance by Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conquerer, the multiversal villain who was just introduced at the end of Loki Season 1.

James Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians 3’ Title, Filming Dates, and Location; Says Script Has Basically Been Done for Three Years

Marvel Announces Early Digital and Blu-ray Release for Black Widow

Marvel Announces Early Digital and Blu-ray Release for Black Widow. It took some time before fans could see it, but the Black Widow solo movie debuted in early July, eventually. And it seems that the movie’s theatrical run is about to end soon, as Disney just announced its arrival on the digital and domestic market. The latest adventures of Natasha Romanoff will hit digital platforms on Aug. 10, while for the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD version of the film, fans will have to wait until Sept. 14. As always, there will be some exciting featurettes, including never-before-seen footage, deleted scenes, bloopers, and much more. Interestingly, there will be no director commentary for Black Widow, unlike most recent Marvel Studios movies.
