County board backs castle's resurgence

JEFFERSON — There was an outpouring of support Tuesday at a meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors for a man and woman whose dream it is to turn their castle home south of Watertown into an elegant, medieval-themed gathering place to host weddings, business meetings and other quiet events.

Robert Mazurek

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. - On Saturday, July 31, 2021, Robert Mazurek passed away peacefully in his home in Baltimore County surrounded by his family. He was 95 years old. Robert, known as Bob to family and friends, was born June 9, 1926, and raised in Ironwood, Michigan, located in the Upper Peninsula near Lake Superior. He was the son of the late Mary (nee Stanczak) and Albert Mazurek and brother to the late William "Bill" Mazurek. He would often talk fondly of his time growing up in the U.P., reminiscing about school, time spent with family, friends, and the small neighborhood grocery and candy store that was owned by his family where he held his first job. Although times were hard growing up during the Great Depression he had a happy, blessed upbringing and was very proud of his Polish heritage.

John T. Kowalsky passed away peacefully in Santa Rosa, California July 22, 2021, at age 95. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Hildegard and Joseph Kowalsky, he attended St. Sebastian Grammar school. Tennis Opens 2021-22 At Pair of Events

The Marquette University men's and women's tennis teams open their respective 2021-22 campaigns this weekend with action at a pair of tournaments. Both programs will be represented at the 45th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Sept. 18-20. This year's MTC will feature a 32-player draw for singles and 16-team draw in doubles and the men's draw will be played at the Milwaukee Country Club and the women's bracket at Western Racquet Club.
