Very few can argue with the magic in numbers. This August 4th, two hundred years to the day of Louis Vuitton’s birth, the Maison’s latest magic trick sees the unveiling of 200 Louis, a window installation in worldwide boutiques. The initiative commissioned 200 artists to reinterpret the Maison’s timeless travel trunks, originally conceived in the 1850s. On behalf of each collaborator, Louis Vuitton has pledged to donate 10,000 euros to a number of non-profit organizations which encourage arts discovery for young people from disadvantaged communities. Here, select contributions from artists Kris Knight, Aaron Kudi, and Edward Granger encounter the mystical and mysterious on a rainy, slightly eerie afternoon inside an abandoned Parisian apartment.
