UTSA sweeps LA Tech in conference opener

SAN ANTONIO – Kirby Smith and Courtney Walters posted double-doubles as the Roadrunners swept Louisiana Tech in the conference opener Friday evening. The Lady Techsters took an early lead in the first (10-5) until UTSA hit a 5-2 run to tie things up at 13. LA Tech hit a scoring surge to lead 24-18 but the Roadrunners came back and tied the set at 24. The remainder of the set stayed tight until UTSA finished with three-consecutive points to lead 1-0 (30-28).
