A dramatic lightning show lit up the night sky over the south coast of England on Sunday night. Videos and photos from across Hampshire and Dorset were posted online. Marco Petagna, a senior operational meteorologist with the Met Office, tweeted that there had been "almost 4,000 lightning strikes in Dorset" in the two hours up to 01:00 BST.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Sunday night and early Monday morning had many people stepping outside to view the total lunar eclipse light up the sky. The deep white moon was visible through clouds before taking on a reddish hue. It was the first total lunar eclipse of the year.

(Detroit Lakes, MN) -- No injuries, but extensive damage after Severe weather pushed through Detroit Lakes Wednesday evening. The Detroit Lakes Fire Department says that crews responded around 6 p.m. to a report of a blaze on the south side of the big lake. What they found was a massive house fire, set off by a lightning strike from the weather in the area.
