A lot of people, including his teammates, have a lot to say about Auston Matthews‘ mustache. The Toronto Maple Leafs’
If there’s one thing sacred to the one-day Thanksgiving NHL break, it’s power rankings. Now that we’re almost a quarter through the season, various publications have been dropping power rankings like they’ll be going out of business. But here’s the thing — I have my own opinions on how the NHL season is shaking out.
The Durango Girls 19U hockey team won three of its four games this weekend in Breckenridge, beating the Summit Lightning, West Elk Wolverines and Aspen Leafs. The team’s sole loss came to Steamboat Springs despite outshooting all the teams. Madeline Glotfelty was Durango’s leading scorer, with nine goals overall. Sophie...
As if we needed another reason to celebrate, but we have an entire day of hockey action to look forward to this Friday. Games start early this afternoon and roll all day, giving us one more reason to hunker down and avoid the crowds. We’re hoping for a carryover of Wednesday night’s late-night excitement, as five of the past six games on the slate easily surpassed the total.
Earlier this week, coach Sheldon Keefe said both Ondrej Kase and the team had no lingering doubts the winger was affected physically or mentally by his injury history before arriving in Toronto. Canadiens (-120) The Montreal Canadiens have one win in 10 road games this season, so perhaps it should be surprising that they are favored at all. But there is good reason for it. The Buffalo Sabres have run into goaltending problems since Craig Anderson's injury and have allowed 22 goals during their four-game losing streak. The Canadiens are not especially dangerous, but if Jake Allen is in net, he is at least a competent NHL goaltender. Not sure that the Sabres can say the same of Dustin Tokarski or Aaron Dell. - Cullen.

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ current hot streak – they’ve won 12 of their past 14 games, including seven of their past eight – shouldn’t get Leafs’ fans overly excited. This is not to suggest they shouldn’t enjoy the Buds’ wave of winning hockey. This is, however, a streak that should be met with the same calm skepticism that greeted the Leafs when they lost five of seven games to start the year.
Maple Leafs goaltender Jack Campbell has become a firm fan-favourite since his arrival in Toronto in February, 2020. Though stellar between the pipes, Campbell has also pulled heartstrings off the ice, with his cat videos, emotional interviews and overall positive vibes. @TicTacTOmar counts down the top five times Jack Campbell gave Leafs fans the feels.
Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, the Florida Panthers are set to take on the Washington Capitals tonight. Heading into the contest, the Panthers have won four in a row and are simply on fire. It certainly is encouraging to see, as they had lost four in a row previously. To get that fifth straight win, however, it certainly shouldn’t be viewed as an easy task. The Capitals have a 12-3-5 record and are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Thus, this is a contest between two of the league’s finest.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in San Jose to take on the Sharks tonight. The Toronto Maple Leafs will start goalie Joseph Woll, who won every NHL game of his career so far. That’s just two, but so far, so good. Holl even got a shutout in his last game, which was last Sunday vs the Islanders.
SAN JOSE — The Toronto Maple Leafs breathed a sigh of relief on Thursday as David Kampf rejoined his teammates on the ice for practice, a sign he may have come out unscathed from a hit to the head by Los Angeles Kings forward Rasmus Kupari on Wednesday. “Yeah, it...

SAN JOSE – Sharks coach Bob Boughner made the decision to pull goalie James Reimer midway through the second period of Friday’s game with the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was more of a mercy move by Boughner than a reflection of Reimer’s play to that point. The Sharks didn’t defend...
