A former BioWare screenwriter claims that "It is not a good idea" do a mass effect series

We recently told you that Mass Effect, the popular science fiction saga developed by BioWare, is very close to having a series produced by Amazon Studios. Negotiations are on the table and the agreement seems close, although there is someone who does not like the idea: David Gaider, former writer of the study and participant in works such as Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR and Baldur’s Gate, among others. He is a relevant figure, since he spent no more and no less than 17 years in the ranks of the company.

Interview with the Sith Legacy

A decade later, The Old Republic endures, having become a free-to-play game. Many of its ideas and influences can be now felt in current Star Wars projects like the High Republic transmedia initiative, itself its own tale of that “more civilized age” before the Republic fell. As the MMO turns...

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Switch Review — One With the Force

One of the best Star Wars games is now portable. Here's how it stacks up on the Nintendo Switch. I remember when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic first came out in 2003. It was summertime, and I had some lawn mowing side hustle money just burning a hole in my pocket. That first night playing was exciting: picking a class, agonizing over how I was going to build my character, and getting lost in the immersive story.

Star Wars: The Old Republic, Legacy of the Sith and the future of the Bioware game

The servers of Star Wars: The Old Republic I’ve been online for ten years now. Its numbers will not be as stellar as those of other MMOs and will probably never be remembered as a cult like the previous Star Wars Galaxies, but Bioware Austin’s MMORPG represents one of the few fixed points in the troubled relationship between Electronic Arts and the universe of Star Wars. While the publisher canceled overly ambitious projects and tried to remedy unfortunate marketing choices, The Old Republic turned out to be profitable, like other similar games it benefited from the transition to the free-to-play model, and it did well enough to justify. the release of seven expansions over the course of a decade. Legacy of the Sith it will be released on December 14 and will be the eighth, but not the last. “This is just the beginning,” project manager Keith Kanneg optimistically said during a recent press presentation.

After nearly two decades and multiple platform releases, the classic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) has now arrived on the Nintendo Switch! Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games take us back on a blast from the past with the port of this critically acclaimed and award-winning title. While little has changed, it’s still a welcome feeling to revisit this fantastic game on an entirely new platform! It’s not a perfect game port, but overall, KOTOR looks and plays well on the handheld system.

Physical Re-Release of KOTOR for PC and Nintendo Switch Coming in 2022

Fans of BioWare’s classic 2003 Star Wars RPG Knights of the Old Republic received some welcome news earlier this year when Aspyr Media revealed that they’re developing a remake of the beloved title for the PlayStation 5 and PC. Now it sounds like KOTOR fans have even more to look forward to in the near future, as Limited Run Games has just announced that they’ll be releasing physical copies of the game in mid-2022 for the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Switch)

In late September, I was just as surprised as you when it was officially announced that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) was being remade for PS5 and that it a Switch port was being released to tide us over. As one who had never played the original (on XBOX, PC, iPhone, or Android), I was cautiously optimistic about what was in store. I knew that KOTOR had a cult following, I had a vague understanding as to why, and I was unsure if I would enjoy it given my limited interest in Star Wars. Clearly I’ve missed out on what RPGs should be.

Darth Revan Was Part Of A Force Dyad – KOTOR Theory Explained

The Force Dyad was first revealed in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but it could also feature in Knights of the Old Republic through Darth Revan. The Force Dyad may have been first introduced in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, but Knights of the Old Republic alluded to the ability before the movies with Darth Revan. First introduced in TROS between Rey and Kylo Ren, a Force Dyad is a powerful connection in the Force so strong that it had the potential to transcend life and death. The Jedi and the Sith were highly aware of the ability and sought different ways to obtain it, with the former creating Padawan-Master dynamics hoping to develop a strong enough bond. The latter formed the Rule of Two, forcing the connection through increasing one’s power and underhanded scheming. Ultimately, both failed in their attempts as the Force Dyad requires balance in the Force – the light and dark sides – a perspective that KOTOR explored long before.
