Jamestown Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a motorcycle early Friday morning. The crash on Newland Avenue near Chautauqua Avenue was reported around 5:45 am. 33-Year-Old Man Dies Following Early Morning Motorcycle Crash In Jamestown

JAMESTOWN – A 33-year-old man died after he was ejected from his motorcycle during a crash in the City of Jamestown early Friday morning. Jamestown Police say the man, who has not been identified, was riding his bike westbound on Newland Avenue near Colfax Street when he collided with a Ford sedan traveling east around 5:45 a.m.

Jamestown man jumps from 2nd-story window to avoid capture

A Jamestown man accused of trying to burglarize a home on Jeffords Street led police on a foot chase Monday evening in which he jumped from a second-story window to avoid capture. Jamestown Police were called to 12 Jeffords Street just after 9 pm and got a description of the man involved who had just fled the scene. The police department's K-9 Unit was called in and they later found the suspect, 19-year-old Marcos Reyes, getting out of a neighbor's vehicle. Reyes led police on a foot chase when he ran into a home on East 2nd Street. Officers say he fell to the ground as he attempted to jump down from a second-story roof. Police charged Reyes with petit larceny and 2nd-degree obstruction. He was also wanted on a county court warrant.

“I got you”: Video shows hero police officer rescuing family from burning house

JAMESTOWN, NY – Heart stopping video was captured of the moment a police officer in New York raced toward a burning home in order to rescue a family that was trapped inside. The body camera footage, which the Jamestown Police Department posted on their Facebook page, shows 25-year-old police officer Mark Conklin racing through a neighborhood before coming upon the fully engulfed house on Monday July 19th, just after midnight.

Jamestown Woman Arrested in Sunday Stabbing Incident

A Jamestown woman was arrested on charges in connection with a stabbing incident late Sunday afternoon in the south county city. Jamestown Police responded to an apartment complex on East 2nd Street just before 5:45 PM and learned that 28-year-old Rachel Menoff allegedly unlawfully entered the victim's apartment, brandished a large knife and stabbed a separate victim in the hand, causing a large laceration. Menoff allegedly ran to a different apartment within the complex prior to officers' arrival, but was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident. Police also learned that Menoff allegedly tried to wash the victim's blood off the knife prior to officers making contact. She is charged with 1st-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault, 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence, and is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail on $20,000 bail.

The Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched to fight the fire at the William Street home around 12:20 a.m. Monday. Brooke and Hector Rivera’s four kids in the house at the time were taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital.

West Third Street Closed by Hotel Jamestown After Bricks Fall Off Building

West Third Street is closed between Washington and Cherry Streets this morning after part of the Hotel Jamestown facade fell to the ground. The Jamestown Post-Journal reports no one was injured after bricks fell off the west side of the building last night.
