20 games and counting: Will the Jacksonville Jaguars' losing streak break the NFL record?

NFL history — the wrong kind — is in sight for the Jaguars, head coach Urban Meyer and rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Jags have lost their last 20 games, going back to the start of the 2020 season under then-coach Doug Marrone. Lose six more, and they'll tie the modern NFL record of the formerly-hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost their first 26 games from the franchise's inception in 1976 until December 1977.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- So, let’s recap the past seven days for the Jacksonville Jaguars:. A viral video involving head coach Urban Meyer and a woman who isn’t his wife dancing close to his lap. An apology. Another viral video that appeared to show Meyer touching the woman’s bottom. A public...

Miami Dolphins Lose 20-23 To Jacksonville Jaguars In London

LONDON (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins suffered another loss, this time to this season’s winless Jacksonville Jaguars. Going into the final seconds of the game, the two teams were tied at 20 – 20. In the last second, Jacksonville scored on a 53 yard field goal to win the game.

Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 stats that defined loss to Broncos

Is it really surprising that the Jacksonville Jaguars are currently 0-2? Not really, they haven’t been very good over the last ten years. Heck, their only winning season, back in 2017, was an outlier, not the norm. On the other hand, the Jags’ slow start surely is disappointing. Head coach...

Jaguars Wednesday: "The message was loud and clear…"

Jacksonville Jaguars: 5 players who will be key to winning in Week 3

It hasn’t been a great start to a season for the Jacksonville Jaguars and things aren’t looking great ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Jags are currently an 8-point underdog and are in a two-game losing streak. On the other hand, they can’t just give up. Sure, this is a steep hill to climb but the Arizona Cardinals are vulnerable.

Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 reasons for optimism early in the 2021 season

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t off to a great start in 2021, losing their first two games of the regular season. On one hand, they’re a young team in a development year, so this isn’t surprising. Then again, that doesn’t change the fact that they’re 0-2. While some fans realize this is a process and it will take some time before they see tangible results, others are (rightfully) frustrated with all the losing the Jags have undergone the last few years.

Jacksonville Jaguars' losing streak hits 20 games, with league record in sight: 'You can't wrap your head around that'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It has been 392 days since the Jacksonville Jaguars last won a game. That's a stretch of 20 consecutive losses, the second-longest losing streak in NFL history -- and the league's record for futility is well within sight, too. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hold that record after losing the franchise's first 26 games in 1976 and '77.

Roster Moves: Jaguars sign OL Rashaad Coward, place OL Brandon Linder on IR

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed OL Rashaad Coward, the club announced today. In addition, the team placed OL Brandon Linder on injured reserve. Coward has played in 30 career games and made 15 starts. He spent training camp this season with the Steelers and was on their active roster from Weeks 1-4. From 2017-20, he played with the Bears and appeared in all 16 games in 2020, making three starts at guard and two starts at tackle. He started a career-high 10 games for Chicago in 2019, all at guard. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Bears in 2017.

Jaguars: 5 players whose stock has plummeted in recent weeks

There are many things to like about the Jacksonville Jaguars even though they’re currently 0-4. Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence is steadily improving. The coaching staff has gotten running back James Robinson more involved in the last two weeks and Shaquill Griffin is playing like a Pro Bowl cornerback. Moreover, the early returns of Dan Arnold are encouraging.

Jacksonville Jaguars: 5 way-too-early free agent targets in 2022

The Jacksonville Jaguars are off to a bad start in the 2021 NFL regular season, losing to the Houston Texans in Week 1. Sure there are 16 games left in the schedule and they have plenty of time to catch up. Plus, the Tennesse Titans and the Indianapolis Colts also lost in the season opener so not everything is doom and gloom. On the other hand, wouldn’t it have been great if the Jags had started the season with a bang and won the first game of the Urban Meyer era?
