Despite a loss to Indiana in Friday’s Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal, Illinois basketball’s NCAA Tournament seeding seems pretty stable. A day before Selection Sunday, No. 16-ranked Illinois (22-9) is a consensus No. 4 seed, according to, a composite of more than 100 bracket projections. Though, where and who Illinois plays depends on who is filling out the bracket.

IU basketball: Indiana vs. Iowa game day essentials, Illinois report card

Bet you didn’t see this coming. After ending the regular season losing seven of nine, IU is making an improbable run in Indianapolis. Indiana is making its fifth Big Ten Tournament semifinal appearance, the first since 2013, and hope to advance to advance to the championship game for the first time since 2001. IU has also won two tournament games in a single year for the first time since 2003.
