Who should win vs. who will win this year

The show-biz awards business is an inherently slippery slope covering a range of human emotions — from joy to disappointment to “What? How did (fill-in-the-blank) win?!”. The Emmys, of course, are no different, and each year the Television Academy — which chooses who wins a statuette or who’s “just happy to be nominated” — ends up on the sharp end of fans’ and critics’ stick. It’s a can’t-win situation.

'The Boys': Vought Creates Their Own Awards After Not Receiving an Emmy Nomination

During the season hiatus, The Boys has been doing a fun marketing strategy where they create shorts and vignettes that parody the entertainment industry of the real world, placing them into the superhero worshipping and superhero-filled world of The Boys. Now with the Emmy's right around the corner, The Boys' fictitious equivalent of Disney+ and other streaming services is feeling left out.

The Boys Season 3: Clearly, Vought+ Shows Were Robbed by The Emmys

In case you didn't check out our earlier post about Amazon and showrunner Eric Kripke's The Boys, then definitely check it out because the cast does a fine job of celebrating the wrap as only they can (translation: expect a ton of "official salutes"). So for a little bit of fun before we start obsessing on the first teaser drop, let's take a look at some of the fine programming Vought International has going on over at Vought+, as the streamer offers a look at their Originals. And though "some" may not consider them Emmy-worthy, they're already Supies winners in the public's eyes. Here's a look at what Vought's plugging, straight from the mega-corporation mouth: "Starting with this profoundly moving and surprisingly steamy doc. Explore The Deep's intimate relationship with one very special, and flexible, octopus in 'Her Deepness'":

The Boys Season 3 Cast Wrap Video Means It's Time to Ask for a Trailer

Earlier this month, Jack Quaid, Jensen Ackles, Erin Moriarty, Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, and the rest of the team behind Amazon and showrunner Eric Kripke's The Boys gave fans the official thumbs-up that Season 3 had wrapped. But we all know how this works, right? It's not really official until the streaming service puts out a wrap video that includes everybody and their mother celebrating having crossed the finish line. And pretty much everyone's here in this one, including a listen-in on what Urban had to say to the crew on the final day.

Invincible vs the Boys: Which is Better?

I don’t think there are many who would disagree that the comics craze has resulted in an oversaturated market. In such a situation it is increasingly difficult for series to stand out. One effective way to do that is to deconstruct the standard superhero format, and two of the best and most popular shows to do that are Invincible and The Boys. Both series can be found on Amazon Prime, but with so much entertainment to consume not everyone is going to have the time to devote to watching them both. So the question must be asked: which one does it better?
