Gold Rush Announced

A “Gold Rush” has been declared for the season opening football game against Wiregrass Ranch High School at Tom Fisher Stadium on Friday, August 27th. Order a Gold Rush T-Shirt from the Athletic Department for $15 will get in the game for free. Orders must be placed by August 13th. Please contact Athletic Director, Mark Lee via email, lee_m2@hcsb.k12.fl.us if you have any questions. Game time is set for 7:30. Tickets will cost $7 for those that do not purchase a Gold Rush T-shirt. Tickets can only be purchased through HomeTown ticketing. All Hernando High School home athletic events will continue to use digital ticketing only. The HomeTown link can be accessed by clicking on tickets on the athletic website, www.leopardsathletics.org.

Lady Leopards Receive All-State Honor

State softball finalist, Hernando High School, had seven Lady Leopards earn All-State recognition. Senior Olivia Townsend and sophomore Savannah Ellis headline the honoree’s by being named First Team All-State as Townsend was named as a utility player and Ellis was named at first base. Townsend batted .430 on the season and led the team with six homeruns. Townsend was tied with Ellis in RBI’s as each knocked in 39 on the season. Townsend also has success on the mound with a 7-2 record including a perfect game. Ellis had a batting average of .472 and had a fielding percentage of almost 99% at first base. Ellis also went 5-0 on the mound including a no-hitter.
