Flash flood sweeps through town east of Phoenix

PHOENIX – A river of rushing water, mud and debris swamped an area east of metro Phoenix on Thursday, shutting down a major highway for hours and leaving behind a mess. Heavy rain dropped 2-4 inches in the Miami-Globe area late in the afternoon, triggering a flash flood that swamped streets and caused a rock slide on U.S. 60. The road closure stretched west to Superior.

Scattered storms across Utah bring ‘probable’ flash floods to Southern Utah again

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Friday! We have made it to the end of the work week, and we close it out with widespread thunderstorms in the beehive state. We continue to see monsoonal moisture surge into Utah and southwest Wyoming through the weekend. This will result in an extended period of thunderstorm chances with a heavy rain threat, flash flood potential, and temperatures slightly cooler than they typically are this time of year.

Miami Weather: Partly Cloudy & Hot, Spotty Showers Possible

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It was a dry, warm start across South Florida with temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s. Late morning into the afternoon scattered storms will develop. As Saharan dust and drier air move in, the rain chance will decrease as compared to the past few days. Although the storms will likely not be as widespread, any storms that develop may produce some heavy downpours. Because the ground is already saturated from the heavy rain the past few days, localized flooding may occur in spots. Highs soar to the low 90s in the afternoon and it will feel...
