Football: With ‘bullseye’ on their backs atop their ‘perch’, Buckeyes respond to Big Ten coaches aiming their sights

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said Ohio State is on top of the perch in the Big Ten Conference. Harbaugh added “somebody’s got to knock [the Buckeyes] off that perch,” and rhetorically asked why shouldn’t the Wolverines be the ones to do so during the Big Ten Media Days Thursday. While Michigan hasn’t defeated Ohio State on the gridiron since 2011, Harbaugh said the Wolverines will do everything in their power to change that fortune.

Mel Tucker: MSU football's addition of Thomas Wilcher 'goes beyond recruiting'

Mel Tucker has proven he’s focused on getting the best players to Michigan State, and getting the best people to make that happen has been a priority. That became even more clear earlier this month when Tucker officially hired Thomas Wilcher as the team’s director of community and high school relations. It’s a long title, but it’s clear that Tucker believes the longtime Detroit Cass Tech coach will have an impact on the Michigan State program.

Ohio State has No. 1-ranked recruiting class in both football and men’s basketball in 2022

Ryan Day and his coaching staff have been dominating on the recruiting trail for quite some time, and it looks like Chris Holtmann and his coaching staff were getting a little jealous of their Ohio State peers. Although it’s the offseason for both sports, the Buckeyes have made plenty of noise in recruiting in both football and men’s basketball and on Monday, both the football team and men’s basketball squad have the top-ranked 2022 recruiting classes in their respective sports, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Chargers Running Back Austin Ekeler Is Forming A Community Beyond Football Through Twitch

There are few athletes in professional sports more connected with his fans than Chargers running back Austin Ekeler. While on Sundays Ekeler is spending his time dodging tacklers and powering his way to the endzone, during his free time it’s not uncommon to find him engaging in a different kind of game. Ekeler is an extremely active Twitch streamer with over 28,000 followers and he uses that time on Twitch to engage with his fans in a way that many athletes aren’t able to. He gets to move past the walls of social media, or press conferences, and speak with his fans directly through Twitch chat. Ekeler really values this time he has with his fans on platforms like Twitch, because while he’s unable to put faces to names, there are people he’s gotten accustomed to seeing in his chat. These fans will show up every week just so they can have a chance to interact with Ekeler, and that connection is what makes his stream different from the average athlete Twitch stream.
