Girls Cross Country run at EUP Conference Finals, Huffman makes 1st team All Conference

The Lady Comets Cross Country team traveled to Brimley for the EUP finals conference meet, that was held at the Bluffs Golf Course. For the EUP conference, they add the three finishes together from all three meets, to determine who makes All Conference. Larissa Huffman finished 4th place overall, making First Team All Conference!

SK Prepares for Cross Country Semi-State; Area Teams in Volleyball Regionals

The South Knox Boys and Girls Cross Country teams will take part in tomorrows’ Brown County Semi-state. Last Saturday, the Lady Spartans finished second out of ten teams at the Pike Central Regional at Prides Creek while the South Knox boys finished fourth. The top five teams in the regional all moved into semi-state action. Joining the South Knox teams on an individual basis are Lincoln’s Keenan Clegg and Jason Ramirez and North Knox’s Calvin Crabtree.

State Qualifying Meets lined up for Class 3A and 4A teams on Wednesday

(State) Boys and Girls Cross Country teams and individuals will compete Wednesday for spots in the state meet. The top three teams and top fifteen individuals advance. Most of the Class 3A schools in this area head to Winterset. Squads at that location will be ADM, Atlantic, Boone, Clarke, Creston, Dallas Center-Grimes, Harlan, Kuemper Catholic, North Polk, Perry, Saydel, Webster City, and Winterset.

The Louisville Leopards Girls Cross Country Team competed in a small meet with host Canton Central Catholic, Cardinal Mooney, and Youngstown Ursuline on Saturday. Louisville finished with 34 points beating out the host Crusaders who finished with 37 points. The Cardinals also took third with 61 points.
