Madison and Mary E. Alliston Madison. Don grew up in Wichita and graduated from East High School in 1963. He graduated in 1970 with a BS in Agricultural Economics from K-State University.

Richard Morton Ellis, 86, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Ambassador Health Care, Centerville, where he had recently resided. He was born in Martinsville on September 21, 1936 to Robert and Ruth (Dale) Ellis, and lived most of his life in the Hagerstown area. He was a retired employee of Perfect Circle / Dana Corp. Following his retirement, he was employed by Care-Van in Richmond. He was a member of New Testament Church of Christ. Dick was a former member of Hagerstown Jaycees, a member of Gideons International and Dana Retirees.

Glenn Vincent Hyland

Glenn Vincent Hyland passed away on November 13, 2022 in Cabot, Arkansas. He was born on July 16, 1927 in Neelyville, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Maude Hyland, and his wife of 73 years, Mary Betty Hyland. Glenn was a Navy veteran of World War II. After returning from the war, Glenn began college at what is now Arkansas State University where he met his wife and completed a degree in business. While in college, he enrolled in Army ROTC receiving his commission as second lieutenant. During the Korean conflict he served in the infantry as an instructor. Upon discharge from the Army, Glenn began his career in Life Insurance and Investment sales in 1954. This career would span 3 ½ decades and moving him from Newport to Little Rock, and finally to Antioch. His territory included the state of Arkansas, to which he travelled extensively. He served as deacon in his local churches in Little Rock, AR and Antioch, AR for over 40 years. His bass voice lent itself to church choirs for many years. His faith was always on display, never saying an unkind word. (Ephesians 4:29) He became a member of Gideons International in 1984 and placed literally tens of thousands of bibles.

Fred William "Bill" Mertz

Fred William “Bill” Mertz, 85, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY. He was born on October 15, 1937, in Henry County, KY, the son of the late Fred and Katherine Maudie Frazier Mertz. Bill as many people remember him had retired from the former Rich Ladder Factory in Carrollton as an assembler. He also became known as the “Lawnmower Man”, one of his passions was mowing and working on and selling lawn mowers from his home in Carrollton. Many of his yard sales that he had, he would take his proceeds earned and make a generous donation to Gideons International. In his earlier years he enjoyed racing his dirt track car on the dirt track racecourses and he always enjoyed attending racing events recently over the years. He enjoyed fishing and playing a good game of Pool of which, he was very good at it. Bill was a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Prestonville, KY.
