‘First Team’ unveils Legends Way, formerly Battalion Avenue on Fort Hood

FORT HOOD — The command team for the 1st Cavalry Division officially unveiled Legends Way during a ceremony in front of Cooper Field on Monday. Formerly Battalion Avenue, the new name is designed to recognize the division’s — and other units on Fort Hood — Medal of Honor recipients who “Lived the Legend” through their heroism. Nearly every quarter mile along the newly designated Legends Way, signs now hang with pictures of each of the division’s 43 Medal of Honor recipients and the story of how each soldier earned the medal.

Softball Announces 2021 Fall Slate

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball announced its 2021 fall exhibition schedule on Monday, including three home games and a doubleheader at South Carolina. The Yellow Jackets will open fall competition at Mewborn Field with an Alumni Game on Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. Tech will then head to SEC country to battle South Carolina in a doubleheader on Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. in Columbia, S.C. The Jackets will return home for the remainder of their fall slate, next hosting North Georgia on Oct. 17 at noon before wrapping up competition hosting Emory on Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Fractional ownership platform Collectable has issued an IPO for a 2017 one-of-one Patrick Mahomes Playoff Contenders Rookie Super Bowl Ticket Autograph card. The card has a BGS 9 grade, with a 9 grade for the signature. The card has subgrades of 9.5 for centering, 9 for edges, 8.5 for corners and 9 for surface.
