Sounds of March: Early success for MCHS Marching Band

The Millington Central Middle High School Marching Band off to a solid start during the fall portion of the 2021-22 competition season. The Trojan Marching Band attended its first marching band competition since 2012. The return after a 9 year layoff provided a few awards for the Black & Gold at Arlington High School. First Place GRAND CHAMPION, Gold Division: Band; First Place, Gold Division: Percussion; First Place, Class AA: Band; First Place, Class AA: Percussion; First Place, Class AA: Colorguard. The Trojan Band has 41 members under the direction of Kreston Smith with two seniors.

HHS Announces Synthetic Health Data Challenge Winners

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) thios week announced $100,000 in total awards to six winners of the Synthetic Health Data Challenge (Challenge). Synthetic health data (i.e., data that is artificially created to mimic real-world data), is important to researchers, health IT developers, and informaticians, among others, who need data to test new ideas until access to secure and actual clinical data is available.

ALBANY — The Racine Southern FFA Chapter recently competed in the Local Meigs/Athens County Soil Career Development Event at the VanNostran Farm in Albany. Soil judging is a competition to correctly identify soil features, classify soil profiles, and interpret soil capability. There were two categories members could compete in — the urban soil judging group and the rural group.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 30 recap: JoJo Siwa’s historic first performance puts her atop leaderboard

Dancing with the Stars welcomed back head judge Len Goodman and a live studio audience when kicking off its 30th season on Monday. Of course, a brand new season brought a fresh crop of star power, who brought their A-game to the ballroom floor. Besides Goodman, fellow judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough regularly remarked on how the competitors exceeded their expectations for a first night performance.

The Fair was wonderful and so many showed up for the 4-H auction I am sure it was a great gift for all the work that was done. THANKS TO ALL WHO ARE INVOLVED. The Meal Site was full of music and laughter on Tuesday, as Big Guys came and played. Many of us knew songs so the sing-a-long was on. They so bless us when they come and it just brightened everyone on Tuesday.
