Two Early Morning Fires in Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse fire crews were busy early Friday morning. At 3:22 A.M., firefighters were called to 216 West Brighton Avenue for a reported structure fire. The first units arrived in just over two minutes, and found heavy fire conditions in a 2 ½ story wood-frame vacant house. The building was searched for victims, and it was determined that no one was inside. It took approximately thirty minutes to fully extinguish the blaze. Neighboring structures were not damaged.

Pittsfield Family is Homeless, A Family Dog is Dead After Midday Fire

An early afternoon fire Thursday on South Atlantic Avenue in Pittsfield left a family homeless. According to Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Garner, at approximately 12:35 pm, the Pittsfield Fire Department responded to 16 South Atlantic Avenue for a reported structure fire. Pittsfield Police were at a neighboring house when they were notified of the fire.
