Fog And Foliage, Acadia National Park, Maine, USA By Joey Priola

After a fantastic three days of autumn hiking and photography in Maine's Acadia National Park, I hit the road to head back home, ecstatic with both the experience and the photos that I came away with. I didn't make it far, however, before Acadia beckoned me to stop once more to capture its beauty. The road I was on took me right past a still pond which reflected the beautiful fall foliage perfectly, and a hint of morning fog added a special touch to the scene. I took the photo seen here and thanked Acadia for blessing me with one more perfect moment before carrying on and hitting the road once more.

Adkins Mystery Monday: What Plant has Longlasting Fall Foliage?

Happy Mystery Monday! As we enter December, some plants prove to be more hardy than we might expect. Do you know what plant has this longlasting fall foliage?. Last week, we asked about greenbrier (Smilax spp.)! This native brambly vine is green-stemmed and often has thorns. In the winter, it produces berries ranging in color from dark blue to black. At Adkins Arboretum, greenbrier is found along disturbed woodland edges, where they thrive in partial sun and dry to moist conditions. The flowers, while inconspicuous, are very attractive to a variety of bees and flies. Various birds including the brown thrasher and eastern bluebird, as well as other animals like opossums, raccoons, and squirrels, will feed on the berries.

Fall 2021 one of the warmest on record in northern Ohio

Take a sweaty bow, northern Ohio — you earned it. The region's traditional fall months — September through November — were among the warmest on record. A chilly and snowy end to November wasn't enough to erase all the unseasonably warm fall days or block the region from recording one of the warmest fall seasons ever.

Corn Harvest in the Driftless Region, Wisconsin, USA By Daniel Anderson

I am fortunate to live in Wisconsin with the many wonderful and varied landscape . photographic opportunities that are available throughout the state. Most people think of Wisconsin as one of the flat states but that isn’t the case. We don’t have the high mountains of the west but we certainly have remarkable elevation changes and this image showing that was taken late this October in the southwestern part of the state in a large region known as the driftless area.

The beauty of fabulous fall foliage

Finally, at long last, autumn is here. It is my very favorite time of the year. I love the colors, the smells and most of all, the tastes (pumpkin spice – yum) of autumn. I am sure that most of you have been praying for rain in the valley which will replenish our aquifers, as well as snow pack in the mountains to provide water for summer irrigation for our farmers and sustenance for our wild life. The rains this fall have certainly been much needed and restorative. We hope and pray that this trend continues so we can look forward to an exceptional spring.

Fall Foliage Offers Kaleidoscope Of Colors

You don’t really have to book a flight to New England. There are plenty of magical spots from the Sierra and the Gold Country to pockets of brazen colors throughout the valley. But to appreciate much of the valley as it once looked along rivers more than 170 years ago...

Pretty Pink Posh – Winter Circles

Hello Crafty Friends! I hope your having a wonderful day! I am sharing a project for Pretty Pink Posh with the lovely Winter Circles Stamp Set and the Coordinating Winter Circles Die Set. I created a few different belly bands for a card I made with the Fall Foliage Die set, to me this flourish looked like mistletoe:) I colored in my circle images with Copic markers, nothing fancy just a few non-traditional Christmas colors. I love the sentiments in the Holiday Scripts Stamp set, they all go perfectly with the circles too! I hope you like my project!

Fall Foliage: Last Look?

Every year we look forward to the splendor that is fall foliage season in New England. A truly spectacular show by nature of brilliant colors that each season draws untold thousands of "Leaf Peepers" to and through Fairfield county on their journey north to take it all in before the leaves fall. By now, a great many of the trees in the Westport area are bare so we are taking what might be a last look at this amazing show courtesy of Mother Nature. In addition to Westport, photos heer also include some from Fairfield & Redding. We will keep our eyes on the trees to see if we can add to this collection, but as this may be our "last look", then please enjoy!
