Five teenagers charged for multiple cases of rape, burglary and kidnapping

BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a Grand Jury has indicted five teenagers on a total of 205 counts for allegedly committing numerous crimes, including the rape of two child victims, in separate incidents that occurred last year in the City of Buffalo. Two adult male defendants and two male juvenile offenders have been arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case. One adult male defendant, whose name will not be released until after his arraignment, remains wanted on an indictment warrant.

Brant man indicted for murder

Keith Renaldo Jr., 38, of Brant was arraigned Tuesday before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case on an indictment charging him with one count of second-degree murder. Renaldo Jr. is accused of fatally shooting 45-year-old Gina Baca of Angola on June 26. Baca was found in a wooded area off of Route 438 in Brant by New York State Police on July 1, 2021. She had been reported missing for several days.

According to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn, the incidents happened on two separate dates. The first was on September 26, 2020, when Bryce Baker and Adiwahab Sabtow both 19-years-old and a 13-year-old suspect broke into a home on Buffalo’s West Side.

Buffalo Child rapist gets 20 years in prison

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 36-year-old Dwaine Gozdziak of Alden was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes to a determinate sentence of 20 years in prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. The defendant will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.

Virginia man guilty for assaulting boy, clerk who refused to sell him beer

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a jury has found 41-year-old Carlos Cherry of Reston, V.A. guilty, as charged, of one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony) and one count of Assault in the Third Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor). The jury rendered their decision yesterday afternoon after four hours of deliberation following a nearly two-day trial.

Harvey Weinstein pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges in California

Former film producer Harvey Weinstein pleaded not guilty to multiple sexual assault charges in California on Wednesday. Weinstein appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court following his indictment on 11 counts of rape, sexual battery, and other charges that are related to separate incidents involving five women between 2004 and 2013. The 69-year-old movie mogul is already serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual abuse in New York and was extradited to California Tuesday for his arraignment.
