At one point during his discussion with Redick, Perkins admit that he was so terrified of facing LeBron James in Game 7 of the 2008 Eastern Conference semifinals that he prayed on the superstar's downfall.

Former Cleveland Cavaliers center Kendrick Perkins recently said that he once hoped that LeBron James would suffer a major injury prior to a crucial 2008 playoff game. Perkins, who was playing for the Boston Celtics at the time, appeared on the “Old Man and the Three” podcast and recalled (beginning at the 0:05 mark) his fears entering Game 7 that year in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
