TOWN OF WATSON-A 40 year old Lowville man was arrested on numerous charges Friday following a trespass complaint on the Loson Road in the Town of Watson. Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene 6:08AM Friday morning after it was reported that a vehicle had driven through a posted barrier and entered onto private property. The subject was believed to still be on the property because there was no other outlet from through the woods. Deputies used U.T.V’s to locate the suspected vehicle that had become immobile. The operator of the vehicle, Jack K. Simpson, was taken into custody. Upon search, deputies located a quantity of methamphetamine, scales and packaging. Simpson was evaluated at the scene and failed field sobriety tests. He was then transported to the Lewis County Safety Building where he was evaluated by the New York State Police Drug Expert. Following evaluation, Simpson was charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor; Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a class A misdemeanor; Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a class U misdemeanor; Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony; and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor. His arrest status was not listed. Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police and Groff’s Towing.
