UPDATE: 13-year-old girl hospitalized after unexpected gunshots outside her Dayton home

DAYTON — A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized after suffering gunshot wounds Friday night. News Center 7 previously reported that crews were dispatched to the 2400 block of Greenway Street near West 2nd Street at around 8 p.m. Crews then transported at least one person to a local hospital following a shooting in the Dayton residential neighborhood, Montgomery County Regional dispatch confirmed.

Cobb County police car involved in crash that leads to second crash involving HERO truck

ATLANTA — The Georgia State Patrol says it is investigating two car crashes that happened early Wednesday morning on Interstate 75 northbound. At around 6 a.m., GSP says a Cobb County police car struck the back of a Chevrolet Silverado near the Howell Mill exit. Then, as officials worked to clear the crash, a GDOT truck on the scene to assist was struck by a Honda.

Toddler reportedly attacked by coyote outside house in California in broad daylight

LOS ANGELES — A toddler was reportedly attacked by a coyote outside her family’s house in Los Angeles, California, on Friday in broad daylight. The 2-year-old girl’s parents, Shira and Ariel Eliyahuo, told KTLA that they had just gotten home from preschool. They took their daughter out of her car seat from the car that was parked right out front of their house. As they went to collect her toys from inside the car, a coyote ran toward their daughter, biting down on her legs and dragging her facedown down the sidewalk.

California teenager rescued father who was trapped under truck by lifting it

OAKDALE, Calif. — A teenager in Oakdale, California, is being praised as a hero after rescuing his father who was trapped under a truck by lifting it. Matthew Wilkinson told KCRA that when he got home Monday he had his teenage son come out to help him work on the brakes of his work truck. It was something they have done many times before but this time the rotor got stuck.
