Damien Hirst Turns Drake's 'Certified Lover Boy' Cover Art Into NFTs

Turning the cover into a series of 10,000 Ethereum NFTs. According to Decrypt, those who are holders of Hirst’s The Currency collection, which launched earlier this summer in July, were “airdropped” these new NFTs for free. Titled Great Expectations, these NFT collectibles were not available for public sale. Hirst announced in a series of ten Tweets his reason for doing so stating, “Everything done well is art. With Drake’s support and blessing, I’ve created this free Thanksgiving gift for all Currency NFT holders; it’s loosely based on the album cover I made for Drake.”

Powers #7 Collection Cover

I generally do not participate in art drops. Making a rapid decision about purchasing original art is not my thing. It usually takes me time to decide how much I like a particular piece of art. I made an exception in the case of Oeming's art drop. I have long admired his work and if nothing else I would get a chance to see some of his art and hear him talk. But I did go in having a picture of what I would want in a Powers cover art if the price was right. So when this piece came up there was no hesitation and I immediately sent in my claim.

‘Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives’ – Cover Art and Synopsis for Adam Cesare’s Slasher Sequel! [Exclusive]

Bram Stoker Award-Winning author Adam Cesare released his original slasher novel Clown in a Cornfield last year, which Bloody Disgusting’s own Meagan Navarro called “a great retro slasher in the guise of Young Adult horror.” Meagan added, “Cesare applies an ’80s style slasher to a modern setting, complete with social relevancy, making the small town setting just as eerie as its homicidal, creepy clown. In other words, this author doesn’t water the horror down for its Young Adult demographic, making it an enjoyable read for any horror fan.”

The Art of Goosebumps has compiled every cover ever created for R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series. The art for the books is just as iconic as the stories themselves. When someone mentions, The Haunted Mask, sure it conjures up memories of a cursed Halloween costume, melting itself onto and melding with the skin of the wearer. And it is impossible to not simultaneously conjure up the vivid image of a little girl in overalls, purple shirt, purple background, with a hideous gaping-mouthed green mask clasped between her hands, obscuring her face as she prepares to place it on her head, a ponytail popping out over the top of the mask, just so. Or how about the cover art of Monster Blood, featuring a slimy, green goo dripping down an unassuming wooden staircase.

The Riven Shield: Sun Sword #5

I’d seen this piece of Jody’s at the first IX I attended back in 2016. 5 years later, I finally decided to add it to the collection. Created as the cover art for “The Riven Shield” by Michelle West, part 5 of her Sun Sword series, published by Tor in 2003. The image was nominated for a Chelsey Award in 2004 (Best Paperback Cover). Jody used David Bowie as reference for Celeriant and Albrect Durer for Kallandras and the souls in the trees were inspired by the symbolist painting "The Evil Mothers" by Segantini.
