CDC recommends indoor mask wearing for vaccinated people in Onondaga County

ONONDAGA COUNTY (WSYR-TV) — The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has listed Onondaga County as an area of substantial coronavirus transmission. Last week the CDC announced that in counties listed as areas of substantial and high transmission they recommend fully vaccinated people wear a mask in public indoor settings.

Cousin of Baltimore County Executive Arrested in Anne Arundel County on Child Porn Charges

The cousin to Baltimore County County Executive Johnny Olszewski was arrested in Anne Arundel County on child porn related charges. The suspect is identified as Robert Wayne Olszewski Jr., 31, of Essex, Maryland. Olszewski is charged with one count of distribution of child pornography, one count of possession with intent to distribute child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Essex Man Robert Olszewski Jr., Cousin Of Baltimore County Executive, Charged With Distribution Of Child Pornography

ESSEX (WJZ) — Maryland state troopers on Friday arrested an Essex man whom they allege possessed and distributed child pornography. Robert Wayne Olszewski Jr. is charged with one count each of distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and possession of child pornography with intent to distribute. He was arrested in Linthicum and taken to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, where he awaited a bail review hearing. The office of Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski confirmed Robert Olszewski Jr. is his cousin. Robert Wayne Olszewski Jr. (Courtesy Maryland State Police) “These are serious and deeply disturbing allegations,” the county executive said in a statement. “I fully support every effort to ensure the truth is revealed and justice is served in this matter.” The investigation dates back to March, when the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit began an investigation they say led them to the 31-year-old Essex man. On May 24, police executed a search warrant on his home. A preliminary review of his electronic devices allegedly found multiple child pornography files. Further information about Olszewski’s case was not immediately available in online court records.

Ulster County DPW commissioner retires

KINGSTON – Ulster County Public Works Commissioner Tom Jackson is retiring after 27 years of public service. During his career, Jackson served in a number of positions including as director of the county Real Property Tax Service agency, public transit coordinator, supervisor for the Town of Marbletown, and since 2017, as county DPW commissioner.

Molinaro signs bill creating new independent reapportionment committee, addresses critics

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro signed legislation approved by the legislature on July 29, creating a new Independent Reapportionment Committee (IRC) tasked with drawing new legislative districts based on 2020 US Census data. The original IRC was disbanded in June after it was learned that one of the members was appointed in violation of the rules governing the IRC.
