A woman suffering from anorexia and a personality disorder died after absconding from a rehabilitation centre and being hit by a car and lorry on the A14, an inquest heard. Sophie Riley, who was being treated at The Chimneys Clinic, in Rougham, on February 16 this year jumped over a gate and ended up on the A14 where she stepped on to the eastbound carriageway at around 5pm.

Yukon’s opioid fatality rate now highest in Canada, overtaking B.C.: coroner

The Yukon’s Coroners Service says the area’s opioid overdose rate per capita is now the highest in Canada, with 48.4 reported deaths per 100,000 people. Yukon’s chief coroner Heather Jones says opioid fatalities now represent more than 20 percent of all deaths investigated by the service between January and November 26 of this year.

Fraser Valley – Chilliwack RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the remains of a person who died in a traffic crash. On December 29, 2020 at approximately 4 a.m., Chilliwack RCMP responded to the report of a fatal two-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Lickman Road. At the scene, police located the bodies of the two occupants inside one vehicle.

The new purpose-built coroner’s inquest courts and offices will be in a quiet location on the outskirts of Workington, at Lillyhall, and will be 'designed to meet the needs of the public who attend inquests, also stakeholders and staff'.

This is an interim position that goes until the November 2022 election cycle, but Barber said he will be throwing his name into the hat at that time. Man Dies In Auto Repair Accident In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A local employee of an “auto business” was killed Saturday in an accident while working on a vehicle, said the Sacramento Fire Department. The business where the incident occurred is near the 5600 block of Franklin Boulevard. Upon arriving at the scene, the Sacramento Fire Department determined that the man had been killed. The Coroner’s office and the Sacramento Police Department are on the scene handling the rest of the investigation.
