Worker dies in reported equipment fall at convention center construction site — UPDATE

One worker was reported dead after equipment reportedly fell from an upper level of the downtown convention center construction site Monday afternoon. Seattle Fire was called to the 9th Ave scene just before 2 PM for a “rescue extrication” call at the construction site but a department spokesperson said the person was dead at the scene. According to Seattle Fire radio updates, a lift reportedly fell from the second level of the construction site near 9th and Pine.

Hold the date! Expo Center recommitment, blessing ceremony is Sunday

The Henry County Expo Center board wants the community to come out Sunday afternoon and see the progress they’ve made with the new convention center by Memorial Park. What started four years ago as a search for new 4-H barns evolved into a multi-million project with dreams to bring thousands of people to New Castle for everything trade shows and conventions to dances and indoor sports tournaments.

NECA Publishes COVID-19 Protocol for 2021 Nashville

NECA issued the following memo yesterday about what to expect at its Nashville convention:. It is almost Convention time here at NECA, and we are excited to move forward with NECA 2021 Nashville! As you know, in this COVID-19 environment, we have been in constant communication with the City, the Convention Center and all of our destination partners related to travel and venue protocols for our annual event. We want to be clear that the safety of our attendees, exhibitors, staff, partners, and speakers is our biggest priority. Jet’s Pizza coming to Columbus Convention Center

Coming this fall, attendees at the Greater Columbus Convention Center will have a new food option – Jet’s Pizza, which is set to open in October. Jet’s Pizza is expected to take up 1,328-square-feet at South Cafe & Marketplace inside the center, which previously housed a Donatos Pizza. The pizza place is known for its Detroit-style, deep-dish pizza.
