Great Barrington police investigating reported string of burglaries

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (NEWS10) — Great Barrington police are investigating a string of burglaries that reportedly took place early Monday morning. Police say they were alerted to the Extra Mart on South Main Street at 3:30 a.m. for a burglary alarm; upon arrival, it was revealed that a burglary had occurred. Police then received alarm activations at 3:35 a.m. for Cumberland Farms and Sunoco.

First responders rescue family of hikers lost on Lantern Hill

NORTH STONINGTON — Police and firefighters rescued four hikers, two adults and two children, on Saturday afther the family got lost while hiking along Lantern Hill. First responders with area towns including North Stonington, Groton, Ledyard and Connecticut State Police were called Saturday evening after receiving reports of the lost family. The family was “not in distress,” officials said, and the hikers were able to be located after they could be heard by first reponders when calling for them.

07/26/21: Men Arrested After Police Vehicles Struck at Trumbull Mall

Three (3) Bridgeport men were arrested Monday afternoon, July 26, 2021, following their involvement in occupying a stolen vehicle, and crashing into several police vehicles as it attempted to flee police at the Westfield Trumbull Mall. Dominique Reid, age 23, of Summitt Street, fled in the stolen Audi to avoid immediate capture, however, Hector Delgado, age 24, of Clifford Street, and Xavier Rondon, age 29, of Benhan Avenue were immediately taken into police custody in the Westfield Mall parking lot.
