Ryan Day Would Welcome Ohio State “Having A Little Wiggle Room” with College Football Playoff Expansion

Ryan Day will probably have trouble sleeping at night as Ohio State closes in on the start of the 2021 season. That’s because the Buckeyes begin the upcoming season with a pair of legitimate challenges — a Thursday night road game at Minnesota and a marquee non-conference game against Oregon — and Day knows a loss in even one of those games could derail Ohio State’s national championship hopes. With the current four-team College Football Playoff format, the only way Ohio State can be certain it will make the field is if it wins every game it plays.

Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork on UT, OU in SEC: 'We're ready'

COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork has a message for any newcomers to the Southeastern Conference: “We’re ready.”. Texas and Oklahoma are preparing to exit the Big 12 and join the SEC, just as A&M did nearly a decade ago. The Longhorns and Sooners are expected to inform the Big 12 this coming week and begin preparing for their pending exits — and how soon they join the SEC (whether by 2022 or as late as 2025) is to be determined.

The AAC will be aggressive in pursuit of Big 12 leftovers

Back in summer 2016, schools from the so-called Group of Five lined up to make elaborate pitches to join the Big 12. For three months, the University of Houston was among the reported favorites, along with Cincinnati, to join the Big 12. It would have been a monumental moment for Houston, which has long desired a seat at college football’s table of power brokers — and the exposure and lucrative payout that come with it.

Would Texas A&M return to Big 12 with Texas, Oklahoma joining SEC?

With Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC in the near future, would Texas A&M make a return to the Big 12?. The college football world is set to undergo a change in the landscape in the very near future, and it involves two powerhouse football programs in the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns. This week, Chip Brown of Horns247 reported both programs are set to leave the Big 12 conference and join the SEC.

College football's most lopsided conference matchups in 2021

With the way that rivalries and conferences are set up, it’s a given that teams will face each other often, if not on a yearly basis. Schedules require such matchups to take place constantly, no matter how much of a gap in talent there might be within the two programs. And because of that, some teams create bigger all-time leads on other teams.

Texas legislature introduces bill in attempt to block Texas leaving Big 12 for SEC

It may be a Hail Mary but Texas lawmakers introduced a bill in an attempt to block Texas from fleeing the Big 12 for the SEC. Texas and Oklahoma will reportedly officially reveal their intentions to leave the Big 12 for the SEC early next week. The news is all but a formality at this point after the last few days revealed their desire to leave the dying Big 12, declining to renew their Grant of Rights through 2025 and how the SEC would realign to make way for two of the founding members of the Big 12.

There are plenty of storylines and questions as Ohio State heads into fall camp, which head coach Ryan Day announced at Big Ten Media Days will begin on Aug. 3. A&M AD Ross Bjork addresses SEC realignment

Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork and the remainder of the Aggies' hierarchy had to deal with the breaking news on Wednesday that former Big 12 foes Texas and Oklahoma had been talking to the Southeastern Conference about joining the league. It occurred right before A&M football boss Jimbo Fisher took the podium for SEC Media Days and while Fisher was able to make a quip about the report (as the media moved on to football topics) it was left to Bjork to actually field extended questions from journalists such as the SEC Network's Paul Finebaum later after Fisher's own appearance.

ESPN's FPI predicts every 2021 Oklahoma football game

The Oklahoma Sooners are entering the 2021 season the way they do seemingly every season: with College Football Playoff and national championship hopes. And with a stacked offense and what appears to be the deepest (if not the outright best) defense in the Lincoln Riley era, the Sooners are a popular pick to get there this year.
