Decisions, decisions.  Voting members of the Country Music Association should have received their final-round ballot for the 2022 CMA Awards through email on Oct. 3, and they will have plenty of hard calls to make before voting ends Oct. 28.  How voters mark their ballots will determine what, if any, records are set when the awards air on ABC from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 9. U.S. Navy Opens Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence at The Institute

The U.S. Navy is launching its Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE) within the State of Virginia’s Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA) on the Danville Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) campus. The creation of the AM CoE marks the first project partnership for the CMA. It demonstrates the Navy’s commitment to investing in and delivering the skilled workforce necessary to strengthen and expand the Navy’s industrial base to achieve the Nation’s strategic defense objectives.

Remembering the Queen of Country. Loretta Lynn was born in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, in 1932. She died yesterday in her sleep at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Lynn earned multiple gold albums over the course of her nearly 60-year career. Her hits included "Coal Miner's Daughter" and "You Ain't Woman Enough." She became the first woman named Entertainer of the Year by the CMA in 1972. Details about a memorial service are expected in the coming days. Loretta Lynn was 90 years old.

Jackson is also a member of Country Music Hall of Fame, George Music Hall of Fame, and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Jackson has had astonishing 35 number 1’s singles and 11 albums on the U.S. Country Chart. Also, he has had 66 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Jackson even has a highway named after him in his hometown of Newnan, GA. Jackson also has one of the most iconic mustaches in Country music. Jackson’s latest album is Where Have You Gone in 2021.

Kentucky native and country music superstar Loretta Lynn died peacefully Tuesday morning at the age of 90 at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. The multi-Grammy winner was the first woman to win the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year Award, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient who never lost her love for her deep Kentucky roots.
