TUCSON, Ariz. – Kevin Rodriguez bagged a brace for FC Tucson on Saturday night as his team defeated South Georgia Tormenta FC 3-1 at Kino North Stadium. Rodriguez scored in the 17th and 67th minutes to lift his team back into the playoff positions at the end of Saturday night. TAMPA, Fla. – Union Omaha defender Damia Viader has been voted USL League One’s Player of the Month for September presented by Cleer Audio after a stellar month in which he recorded three goals and two assists in four appearances. The Spanish standout’s performances helped los Buhos move into first place in the League One standings, where they are currently on course to finish with the best record in the league this season.

Union Omaha might not have claimed victory on Saturday night against Greenville Triumph SC – which did its own postseason chances a world of good with victory on the road – but los Buhos became the first team to book its place in the 2021 USL League One Playoffs after North Texas SC’s defeat on Sunday night to the Richmond Kickers.

FC Tucson Aim To Bounce Back At Home

FC Tucson (9-9-6, 33 points) is sixth in USL League One with four matches remaining in the regular season. The top six spots qualify for the playoffs. The last match between the two, back in late May, saw Tucson come away with all three points after a tight 2-1 win.
