Gold mining M&A poised to heat up in 2022 as asset pipeline runs bare

M&A among gold companies jumped in 2021, and deals are poised to increase in 2022 as miners scramble for a shrinking number of producing assets to keep their pipelines full. The $10.62 billion merger between Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. and Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. led the way among a wave of monster gold deals in 2021. While complete M&A data for the year is not yet available, the market was also rocked by Newcrest Mining Ltd.'s $2.78 billion takeover of Pretium Resources Inc. and Kinross Gold Corp.'s $1.44 billion acquisition of Great Bear Resources Ltd.

Mentoring permeates all activities of the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group (ECOG-ACRIN), fostering the careers of young investigators in clinical and translational research. Organizational policies ensure the inclusion of young investigators in the scientific committees that develop and pursue new scientific ideas across ECOG-ACRIN’s three scientific programs. We formulate specific learning goals for early-career investigators who serve as co-chairs of our clinical trials.

Community Foundation holds Fairy Godmother Tea at Seelye Mansion

Once upon a time, and many times since then, women have been helping each other during difficult times. Several months ago, Abilene resident LaVetra Brown met with Elizabeth Weese, executive director of the Community Foundation of Dickinson County, to inquire about needs in our community. Weese shared how another group of people had supported women in their area as Fairy Godmothers through a Fund at their Community Foundation, and LaVetra was compelled to do the same for her community. That began was the beginning.
