Private street decried as looking like a ‘campground’ -- Hunting Valley Police Blotter

A caller reported around 9:30 a.m. on July 18 that there were so many people up and down a private road and community that it looked like a campground. Police responded and spoke with a group of runners and any other non-residents in the area shortly before 10 a.m., explaining that it was private property and they could be facing trespassing charges, with special attention planned later in the area to make sure everyone had cleared out.

After investigating report of dog locked in car, officers arrest owner on theft, drug charges: Solon police blotter

SOLON, Ohio -- Animal cruelty: S.O.M. Center Road. At 2:20 p.m. July 15, police were called to the lot of Hobby Lobby, 6221 S.O.M. Center Road, where it was reported that a dog had been locked inside a hot car for about 20 minutes. The outside temperature was 89 degrees and a car window was slightly open, with no water inside the vehicle. The car was parked in direct sunlight.

Officers were dispatched to a South Main Street house on July 17 regarding an unknown male banging on the door asking to be let inside. Police reported that the man was a contractor working on a job in Chagrin Falls and temporarily living in the village. He was transported back to his apartment. There were no charges.

Former students pay teacher surprise visit

Beth Barber fondly recalls her first job 42 years ago teaching kindergarten. “I had two opportunities,” the Chagrin Falls resident said. “I had a four-room schoolhouse in Galax, Virginia, or I could go to Wallace Primary and teach kindergarten.” She chose the latter, where Antionette Bostic and Dee Dee Grooms were part of the class.
