Flags raised on 9/11 in Ontelaunee Park

As a procession of some 80 people walked toward the eternal flame at Ontelaunee Park, the weight of 9/11 was shared by all in attendance. A few minutes later, Civil Air Patrol Squadron 805, under the direction of Cadet Program Officer Vincent Russ, hoisted the flag signaling the beginning of the ceremony.

Franklin Township Police Are Now Recruiting Public Safety Cadets!

APPLICATION DEADLINE - October 3, 2021. The Franklin Township Police Department Public Safety Cadet Unit is designed to provide exciting and challenging training, along with on-the-job experience for young people interested in a career in law enforcement. Cadets participate in classroom learning, practical scenario training, and are able to participate in ride-alongs with officers. Cadets work side by side with police officers, serving at various community events. The Cadet program is an excellent way to become familiar with law enforcement policies and procedures, to network with Police Officers, and to obtain community service hours.

Interested in exploring emergency medicine, public health, or other careers in the medical field? Have you ever thought about becoming an EMT? The Madison Ambulance (MVAC) Cadet Program was just approved as an IMMX. This semester-long program provides Drew students with opportunities to help their community and to gain professional experience in emergency medical services and public safety. The Program provides capacity building for MVAC in that some students complete the Cadet Program then complete an EMT Certification Program and return to MVAC to become members of the Corps. MVAC will train the Cadets in CPR and Basic First Aid and provide them opportunities to explore a career or professional work in emergency medical services and the chance to develop related professional skills.
