Nationally ranked BYU now knows the pain of a 4-0 deficit in turnovers, undisciplined play from its veteran players, questionable coaching decisions and a 26-17 final score that was celebrated a month ago but has now resulted in the end of what was looking like another magical season. Doing everything...
Only 11 days after decommitting from the University of Utah, four-star defensive lineman Aisea "Ice" Moa has committed to BYU. Aisea, who is the son of former Utah tight end Ben Moa, picked BYU over offers from Utah, Oregon State, Utah State, and Colorado State. Though his Father played at Utah, he also has family ties to the BYU football program. Aisea's uncle is former BYU tight end Carlos Nuno.
BYU Football has an opportunity to potentially be ranked higher than they have been ranked in the AP poll since the 1990’s this weekend if they can beat Boise State. Granted, a few teams ahead of them would have to lose, but it is a possibility that the Cougars could jump Oklahoma if they lose to Texas, Michigan who is on a BYE, and an outside shot of passing the loser of Iowa vs Penn State.
The College Football Top 25 will have it’s least chaotic week as most Top 25 teams win. Week Six in the rankings won’t reflect how good of a week of college football that this week actually was. While teams like Notre Dame and Michigan appeared to be in trouble late, they were able to pull off big comebacks and win their games. Alabama was not so lucky as they lost to Texas A&M on a last second field goal.
At No. 10 BYU (5-0) Saturday, 1:30 p.m. MDT. Tom Petty’s “The Waiting” sold millions of records in 1981 with the chorus “The waiting is the hardest part.”. BYU freshman running back Jackson McChesney doesn’t sing or play an instrument, but this eager football player can relate to “the waiting” and for him, it is the hardest part.
Again – Injury percentage against Utah State – 66.6%. Am I saying that Utah State is trying to injure BYU? No, of course not. But the sample size is starting to get pretty large and whether it’s karma, too many cow jokes or just the playstyle of Utah State, it is getting to the point where this can’t be a coincidence.
How this BYU player tried out for the team, turned into a defensive star — and became ‘Gumby’ in between
Gabe Summers might not be the most interesting man on BYU’s 5-0 football team, but the story of how he went from getting no recruiting interest at all out of Saratoga Springs’ Westlake High to starting on the defensive line for the No. 10 team in the country very well could be.
One can make a strong argument that BYU Sports have never been in a better position. BYU Sports will be playing in the Big 12 in two years. BYU football, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s cross country and women’s cross country are all ranked nationally in the Top 20. BYU men’s and women’s basketball are both looking at having historic seasons as well as men’s volleyball, both track teams and gymnastics. Finally, BYU athletes everywhere are appearing to be winning in the NIL.
A decision to place visiting football teams in front of the Aggie student section on the east side of Maverik Stadium sparked some debate this week after fans and players exchanged more than just words at Friday’s BYU-USU game. There is disagreement over who provoked the incident, but as...
Are BYU’s Alex Barcello, Utah State’s Justin Bean among college basketball’s least appreciated players?
BYU guard Alex Barcello and Utah State forward Justin Bean do many things well for their respective programs. Does that kind of versatility make them a bit underappreciated?. College Hoops Today’s Jon Rothstein placed the pair on his list of the 10 least appreciated players in college basketball entering next season, highlighting players whose attributes may not, for whatever reason, have gotten the respect they deserve.
A quick Brigham Young University student snatched up the @brighamyounguniversity TikTok handle — before BYU had the chance to. Hannah Anderson, a junior in the advertising program, posted a TikTok Wednesday afternoon. The video shows her dancing to “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire with the caption “When you get the username of your college before they can.” The TikTok blew up overnight and had more than a million views by noon on Thursday.
A student at Brigham Young University has apparently obtained the TikTok username for the college before they did.

Previously, the Aggies would take up the east sideline and opponents would line up along the west sideline. But first-year coach Blake Anderson decided to flip it around. It’s a great strategy against visiting teams, who now have the student section, known as The Hurd, breathing down their backs. There’s not much space separating the sideline from the stands, and the lowest level is just a few feet above the field, making it feel like The Hurd is right on top of the visiting team. That was more than felt on Saturday, when BYU went to Maverik Stadium.
The weekend brought a few more revelations about the BYU football team’s future. After throttling Utah State 34-20 Friday night, BYU announced Saturday that it will wear all-navy blue uniforms for Saturday’s showdown against rival Boise State, complete with navy blue helmets for the first time since 2004. The game...
Zach Wilson has firsthand knowledge of how talented Tyler Allgeier is, as the two played together at BYU from 2018 to 2020. What Wilson — now playing quarterback for the NFL’s New York Jets — sees in his former Cougar teammate is a pro talent. “That dude is a good...
PROVO, Utah -- Gordon Hudson, an All-American tight end for BYU and a College Football Hall of Famer, died Sept. 27. He was 59. He died in San Jose, California, the school said. Hudson suited up for the Cougars from 1980 to '83, earning All-America honors as a junior and...
Tyler Allgeier stood outside the locker room Friday after BYU defeated Utah State to fulfill a postgame media commitment. He was excited. He was at ease. He was humble, kept it simple and he was exhausted. Allgeier has become the poster boy for BYU football, his antics fast becoming video...

Provo • There was magic in the air surrounding LaVell Edwards Stadium. The anticipation for the rivalry game between BYU and Utah was palpable, with fans filling the stadium for the first time since the end of the 2019 season. And if it felt like anything was possible, maybe it...
I’m sure I am not the only one who is surprised by where we still are in this pandemic. There was a point at the beginning of summer where it looked like things were improving only to find ourselves somewhat better but far from “normal.” COVID-19 has changed us in a multitude of ways and, in some aspects, we will never be the same. I have read numerous articles and studies over the last 18 months of the impact that COVID-19 has had on the disability community that I hadn’t thought of before although I do see a lot of it in the people that I support.
This summer, Walmart challenged four BYU Marriott School of Business students to create a sustainable alternative for a supply chain process through an internship with the school’s Ballard Center for Social Impact. These social impact projects (SIPs) enable students from all disciplines to create lasting solutions to global challenges. Over...
