Help us bus back better

A survey has launched to find out how local bus services can be improved and what would make more people use them. Dorset Council is working in partnership with bus operators, and other transport providers, to deliver improved services in response to Government’s Bus Back Better – A National Bus Strategy for England. A critical part of this response is the development and submission of a Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), and input from bus users is an important part of the plan.

Syracuse needs better bus service. Now’s the time to make it happen (Guest Opinion by Maurice Brown)

Maurice Brown is a founding member of Uplift Syracuse and currently serves as the lead of the group’s Transportation Committee. Syracuse needs better bus service, and now is the time to make it happen. A new coalition of elected officials understands the need for better service, new leadership at Centro has the expertise to implement it, the New York State Department of Transportation is committed to improving transit as part of the Interstate 81 project, and a once-in-a-generation investment from the federal government provides the means to build and run that better service.

Buses on Third Avenue in Downtown Seattle.Stephen Fesler. King County Metro is continuing to boost bus service via three rounds of service restorations. Changes coming in October and March will bring the agency back very close to pre-pandemic levels. A final round of service restorations is expected in September 2022.
