No. 2 Michigan returns to action in the heels of its dominant, long-awaited win over rival Ohio State last week, as it faces No. 13 Iowa on Saturday in the Big Ten Championship Game with a shot for a berth in the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history. The Wolverines moved up three spots from No. 5 in the selection committee's rankings Tuesday, but a win is still probably needed against the Hawkeyes to secure the team's spot in the top four.

Ohio State Likely Headed to Rose Bowl if Michigan Wins Big Ten Championship, Peach or Fiesta Bowl if Iowa Wins B1G Title

All Ohio State can do now is wait. While the Buckeyes will be playing one more football game this season, they won’t know who or when they’re playing until Sunday, when this year’s bowl selections will be announced. Unlike the past four years, when Ohio State was playing in the Big Ten Championship Game to either secure a berth in the College Football Playoff berth or at least make the case that it belonged in, the Buckeyes will be watching this weekend’s conference championship games from home, giving them no additional opportunity to bolster their résumé before bowl selections are made.
