Forest Service rethinks plan to shoot feral cows

A plan to employ aerial gunners to cull an estimated 250 unbranded feral cattle in the Wilderness District of the Gila National Forest is on hold. At their regular meeting, Grant Soil and Water Conservation District supervisors discussed the controversial plan, which ranchers first heard about in March. Monday’s meeting was held both in person and via Zoom, although the bulk of what was said could not be understood by those joining the meeting by remote means or by telephone.

The Well on track to open in November, offer expanded wellness resources

Cleveland County is set to open a health and wellness facility in November that will offer space for community partners and the Norman Farm Market. The 14,000-square-foot, two-story facility consisting of two buildings will house space for events and activities aimed at improving the health and wellness of Cleveland County residents. It also will include green, walkable space for outdoor events.
