Lingua Ignota Announces New Album Sinner Get Ready for August 2021 Release and Shares New Song “Pennsylvania Furnace”

Lingua Ignota has announced her new album SINNER GET READY is set to arrive on August 6 via Sargent House, her first album on the label. It will feature 9 tracks including the newly released single “PENNSYLVANIA FURNACE.” The hauntingly beautiful track refers to the legend of an 18th-century ironmaster whose dogs return to drag him down to hell after he throws them all into his furnace in a rage. Its accompanying visual was directed by the singer, also known as Kristin Hayter, providing beautiful imagery of rural Pennsylvania. Check it out below.

DJ Schwa and Name Does Not Matter return to vinyl with 'Obsolete' remixes

DJ Schwa and Name Does Not Matter teamed up last year to deliver a wicked concoction; now they're back — on vinyl — with remixes from two of the best in the biz. Featuring two original tracks, and remixes from Posthuman and Jerome Hill, it’s about as evil as you might expect. Think squelching 303s, moody basslines and big beats — there’s no messing about here.

Catbite release hardcore/punk version of s/t debut LP for Bandcamp’s Juneteenth fundraiser

For the April Bandcamp Day, Philly ska/power pop band Catbite proved that they're just as good at alt-country as they are at ska by releasing CATLITE, a "yee-haw version" of their 2019 self-titled debut. Now, for Bandcamp's Juneteenth fundraiser, they've released CATFITE, a hardcore/punk version of the album. Some of it leans more on a melodic garage punk side, but much of it embraces the tough, pit-starting sounds of classic '80s hardcore. It's cool to hear yet another interpretation of this great batch of songs, and you can check it out for yourself by picking up the album at Catbite's Bandcamp.

Torvus Releasing Dead Seasons Demo Next Week

Take a quick gander at the Bandcamp page of Maryland death-doom rawness slingers Torvus and you’ll see in the sidebar they’ve listed a gig taking place July 2 at a castle in Slovakia. Well, I don’t think that’s true, and I don’t even know if travel to Nové Mesto nad Váhom is allowed at this point in time, but listening to the songs on Torvus‘ upcoming demo, Dead Seasons, I see where they’re coming from. The trio, which features Zak Suleri of Et Mors, Seasick Gladiator, and so on, offer a melancholic extremity that recalls early death-doom’s underproduced majesty, a ferocity of exploration and a fresh sense of ripe decay speaking to the deathly atmosphere surrounding.
