DIAL matches undergraduate students from backgrounds traditionally untapped for arts leadership with dynamic communities, energetic host arts organizations, and mentors, to guide students' personal and professional growth throughout the summer. In 2022, the nationwide, competitive selection process will grant five paid, ten-week-long internships with New Jersey arts organizations. Internships will take place in-person with virtual elements.

Robin Whatley

My work is a reflection and reinterpretation of pop culture from the 50s, 60s, and 70s combined with a reimagined culture of today. For my mixed media paintings, I combine magazine cut-outs with water-based paints and integrate them into “other worldly” landscapes. For my collage series, I combine vintage magazine cut-outs on paper to create surreal, dreamy vignettes. These works are meant to reveal a deeper underlying psychological theme, feeling, or political statement that transcends time.
