ZZ Top has been hunting down online scammers trying to ‘cash in’ on Hill’s death by selling counterfeit merch with messages like ‘RIP Dusty’. The band put out a statement warning fans that these products aren’t authorized, writing “no monies generated by these bogus goods are paid to the band or to Dusty’s family.” ZZ Top has continued their summer and fall tour with longtime guitar tech Elwood Francis taking over for Hill.

The tracks include alternate takes of “Get Back” and “One After 909”, and new mixes of “I Me Mine” and “Across The Universe”. Let It Be Special Edition includes 27 previously unreleased recordings, along with a brand new stereo mix of the album, taken directly from the original eight-track tapes recorded during the band’s famous ‘rooftop concert’. The album will be out Oct. 15th.

The movie, Jagged, details the singer’s rise to fame in her early 20s, culminating with the release of her bestselling “Jagged Like A Pill” album. The 47-year-old Grammy winner said a statement: “This was not the story I agreed to tell.” Morisette continued, “This one includes implications and facts that are simply not true” although the singer didn’t explain which ones exactly. Jagged is scheduled to come out in November.

Here’s a look at what’s going on in today’s rock news. -A collection of never-before-heard John Lennon interviews are going up for auction later this month. The set of reel-to-reel tapes includes 91 minutes of interview footage with the ex-Beatle and his wife Yoko Ono, conducted by Canadian journalist Ken Zeilig in 1969 and 1970. Most of the footage has never been heard before – only about five minutes were ever broadcast. Lennon talks about his musical influences, the Beatles’ future, and even the time he got his first harmonica as a child. The tapes will be auctioned off on Sept. 28th, and are expected to sell for as much as $40,000.

The band will resume its End Of The Road farewell tour Thursday night in Irvine, CA, ending a 10-day quarantine after both Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons tested positive for COVID-19. A total of eight shows were postponed during the quarantine, all of which have been rescheduled for October or sometime in 2022.
